Introduction and Overview
Outreach Committee
Thank you for your interest in St. Paul’s Outreach Committee!
About Us
The Outreach Committee was created to further the work of the Church in our community:
to promote awareness
of societal needs and concerns, and
encourage the congregation to seek a Christian response to such concerns.
The work of this committee takes many forms, including:
Canadian Foodgrains Bank
Community Dinners
Wesley Urban Ministries
Affordable Housing & Homelessness –
In response to a growing need for action on this issue a special sub-committee was created in 2023.
Affordable Housing & Homelessness Sub-Committee
In late 2021 the committee conducted a survey to better understand the societal issues of most concern to the congregation. The survey showed us that Housing Affordability & Homelessness is the #1 issue that needs to be addressed in 2022 by this committee.
An educational Lenten Series was delivered in 2022, and in 2023 an Affordable Housing & Homelessness Sub-Committee was created to focus on this issue.
This year we are partnering with First Unitarian Church of Hamilton on several high-profile educational events that promote learning, collaboration and action.
