The Chancel Choir
is the musical group with the longest history in the church,
first organized in1839.
Numbering around 25
they perform a wide variety of SATB repertory
from classical, to traditional standards, to Gospel, folk and pop.
Singing both accompanied and a capella choral works,
they lead in weekly worship,
and also perform in the St. Paul’s Musical Showcase,
the “pops” concert at the church.
Frequently the Chancel Choir joins forces
with the Sweet Refrain singing group.
A highlight of the year is the augmented choir of 50 voices
singing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah
with brass and organ
at the Easter worship service.
The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursdays at 7:30.
New members are welcome
and inquiries regarding participating should be directed
to Fredric DeVries, Music Director.
