The music ministry at St. Paul’s United Church
offers two choirs for the Young Christian Community:
the Celestial Singers for children ages 7 to 14,
and the Sunbeams for children 4 to 6.
Children from the Dundas community
as well as from St. Paul's congregation
are participating in joy of singing in a choir.
Every child has a gift they can bring to these groups.
And this is an excellent outreach and evangelism program at St. Paul's,
as children become exposed to the great themes of our faith,
by way of songs and drama designed for children,
and it is an experience that stays with them throughout their lives.
The children get to know each other through weekly rehearsals,
through theme nights, like our Halloween party, Pizza and Movie evening,
and their spring banquet.
They develop confidence, skill, commitment and a sense of belonging.
They sing in worship at least once a month,
and more frequently in Advent and Holy Week.
At Christmas, they go caroling at nearby nursing homes.
The highlight of the season every year
is the production of the staged musical in early May.
They recently performed Life of the Party on May 8 at the morning worship.
New members are cordially invited.
The children rehearse at 6:30 on Thursday evenings,
and inquiries for joining should be directed to Fredric Devries, Music Director.
